Safomasi in Alchemy’s Design Wallah at Southbank Centre
Southbank Centre are celebrating the 5th year of Alchemy, an annual festival showcasing the music, dance, literature, comedy, fashion, art and design from the UK and South Asia.
‘Design Wallah’ is Alchemy’s new showcase of South Asian contemporary design, curated by Shake the Dust for Southbank Centre. Design Wallah promoted new, emerging, and established designers, in the curated space at Festival Village (under Queen Elizabeth Hall) and includes a pop-up shop featuring a wide selection of jewellery, interiors, artwork, stationery and gifts for sale.
One of the home brands taking part are Safomasi who have caught the eye of Home Arty Home with their stylish printed textiles.
Award-winning home decor designers Sarah Fotheringham and Maninder Singh are the founders of Safomasi. A reflection of Sarah’s background as an artist and illustrator and Maninder’s experience in fashion and production, they are inspired by both the everyday and the exotic. Their contemporary prints are the result of a mix of cultures and influences, observed and absorbed from their travels all over the world. Every single product is handmade and Home Arty home loves their colour combinations and distinct illustrative style.
The festival starts this Thursday, the 15th of May, and is running until the 26th.
