Pantone’s Radiant Orchid & Dulux’ Teal Living in Decor Harmony
Pantone, the colour reference company, announced their colour of 2014 to be “Radiant Orchid” (a rich purple/pink tone) whereas Dulux, the paint makers, proclaimed 2014 to be the “Year of Teal“.
There have been vociferous supporters and detractors for both shades on social networks but there’s no reason why we can’t all just get along!
Home Arty Home has created a Pinterest board as a way to bring both colours, and factions, together, and demonstrate how variations of both can live in harmony! Head on over to the board here to take a look and follow Home Arty Home on Pinterest.
Let’s face facts: whatever shade is proclaimed by whichever company as “the colour of the year” doesn’t mean we’ll all be rushing out to re-paint our walls.
We’ll always stick to colours that suit our homes, lifestyle, and personality, but that doesn’t mean we can’t inject a “colour of the year” via accessories, artworks, or an occasional piece of furniture, if it appeals to us.
