Home Arty Home was recently introduced to the debut collection of crafted fabrics by Olivia Bard and I was immediately smitten with the hand-blocked print of mirrored creatures. The watercolour-effect print is evocative of middle-ages block printing yet brought up-to-date by using contemporary tones of muted aquas and soft purples.
Inspired by nature and travel, Olivia Bird is a new interiors brand by the Haddow Group and includes fabrics for upholstery, curtains, and accessories, as well as finishing touches such as tiebacks, curtain poles, and finials.
From intricate jacquard weaves to illustrated animal motifs and graphic geometric patterns, the materials adopt a range of striking surface design techniques such as hand block printing, cut embroidery and digital prints, with each decorative fabric woven in a variety of yarns, including textured cotton and linen blends.
